In
the aftermath of World War II the Arab nations of the Middle East became
independent and acquired their own military establishments, and further they
have been involved in wars with outside powers and with each other. The results
have been less than impressive. Despite up to date training, equipment etc.,
Arab armies have been repeatedly thrashed.1
